Here’s a little backstory.
By 2011, the American economy was in the tank; Congress in chaos; the financial recovery from the long depression of 2008, 09, 10 and 11 dismally languishing; crime increasing; the dollar steadily decreasing against the Euro; and the national debt spiraling out of control. The government had failed to retain manufacturing in the US. and following the 2010 elections Federal and State taxes were increased to pay for escalating social and health programs.
The Independent Governor of Indiana, Bryanna Dudley, had risen to national notoriety following a series of natural disasters that proliferated the Midwest in 2010. The Federal government’s disdain to increase spending in an election year left hundreds of thousands of displaced citizens to fend for themselves. So, she called on wealthy private citizens to donate money for relief.
She got the attention of one; financier, currency trader and former hedge fund operator, Mike Macdonald, now a philanthropic humanitarian and successful fundraiser. He joined Dudley’s effort and raised hundreds of millions of dollars from his billionaire society to privately fund her DOER program - Disaster Organization for Emergency Relief.
Thus began a relationship that created the new Centrist Party, and introduced it into national politics in early 2011. In 2012, a third party President and Vice President, US Senators and Representatives were elected to office, forever changing the American political landscape.
